FISCAL YEAR 2002-2003 BUDGET
LETTER OF TRANSMITTAL
Honorable Mayor and Members of the City Council:
Pursuant to Paragraph E(1), Section 2.24.070 of the San Dimas Municipal
Code, it is my pleasure to submit to you the annual operating and capital
improvement budget for Fiscal Year 2002-2003. The budget provides for the
allocation of $23,631,826 in expenditures across the city's 28 Funds.
Our budget process requires the city to respond to the needs of the community
and financial issues that come from the outside. This budget reflects
adjustments to increases in insurance costs and public safety services. The
city continues its commitment to maintaining a broad array of public services
and support for community events and organizations. We will be spending over
$1.75 million in street, alley, and concrete repair projects. Our parks and public
facilities also will receive additional financial support to complete needed
improvement projects.
I appreciate the continued vision and commitment of the city council, the steady
contribution of dedicated city employees, and the enriching contribution of the
city's many groups and organizations. The budget represents the spending
plan of the city; its main purpose is to effectively use the community's resources
in making significant investments toward steadily improving the wonderful
quality of life enjoyed in San Dimas.
I appreciate the effective work of those that have assisted in the preparation of
this document. We look forward to the upcoming fiscal year.
